The Electoral Commission Queensland (ECQ) periodically does audits of all political parties that do not have a sitting member of Parliament.

 

Last year the HEART Party (IMOP) was subject to a routine audit. At about the same time we merged with the Health Australia Party (HAP) and used a mix of HEART (IMOP) members and HAP members which were presented to the ECQ.

 

This was about to be finalised as a PASS, but the HAP Executive decided to suddenly withdraw from the merger. The above action came to the notice of the ECQ, who removed the HAP members from the count which left us short of the minimum members, resulting in a FAIL of the audit. The flow on effect was deregistration of the HEART Party in the state of Queensland.

 

We are looking at the possible re-application of Party Status in Qld, but at present the Party remains de-registered.
